Original residents get new home where old one was
26 July 2010
The last of the original residents on the Coalville estate have now moved into their brand new house – on exactly the same spot as their old one.
When John and Josie Drury agreed to sell their home in the clearance area of Weston Heights they decided to invest their financial compensation in a new house on the estate. But they wanted it to be exactly where their old one was.
This took a while to sort out but between RENEW, Compendium and Riverside a solution was found. The Drurys were temporarily housed in a Riverside property while their old home was demolished and a new one built in its place. Because their new home is close to some of the remaining original properties on East Street, they will still be close to some of their old neighbours.
