Grant success for Coalville residents

Funds to pay for Coalville Residents’ Association to take trips and show films have been granted by Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Ward Fund for the area.

Some of the grant is to pay for trips, such as an Over 60’s trip. But a large part of the grant is to be used for project equipment and a projection screen for the new Community Centre.

This equipment has now been ordered and the association is applying for a licence that will allow it to provide free film shows at its centre.

In its bid, the association asked for just over £2,500 which will help pay for a projector and projection screen for the new community centre, the annual ‘older persons’ trip, the annual youth club trip and running the Kidzone Activities Project.

The projector will be used for community film shows as well as being a useful piece of equipment for anyone running adult education classes or meetings at the centre.
