Reports look at future for estate
03 August 2010
Two reports examining the possible future of houses on the Galleys Bank estate have now been published.
RENEW bought the semi-detached two-storey property at 34 Victoria Avenue, Kidsgrove, to establish the best and most cost effective way to bring houses on the estate up to mortgageable standard. This house has acted as a pilot property for engineers and other professionals to test what works best.
The aim of the current programme of work is to establish the present condition and future life expectancy of this pilot house, to implement the chosen method on it and then use the information gleaned from this process to develop the basis of a strategy for the rest of the estate.
One report looks at stages one and two of this process and can be read or downloaded here and the second report looks at stages three and four and that can be seen and downloaded here.
