Open evening to discuss Regent Road plans

Families living in the Regent Road area of Hanley are being invited to attend an open evening to discuss regeneration plans.

The open evening at Hanley Baptist Church, Regent Road will highlight plans to carry out a survey on a number of properties in Regent Road, Houghton Street, Harding Road and Bower Street.

The survey will gather information about the physical condition of the houses and the local environment with the findings determining how any funding from RENEW can compliment private sector investment on the nearby residential development at the YMCA.

Explained Neil Watson, Environmental Health Officer in RENEW’s Housing Standards Team: “We have chosen to carry out this survey now as there are major changes underway with new residential development on the YMCA site on Harding Road and the construction of the Mosque on Regent Road.

“Obviously local residents may have questions now regarding the survey process and what it may mean for the future of their area.  We have therefore organised an open evening to provide owners and residents with information about the stages of the survey and to answer any queries.”

The open evening is on Thursday January 28 from 4-7pm at Hanley Baptist Church, 53 Regent Road, Hanley.
