New homes celebration for Cobridge
17 June 2010
The opening of six three-storey houses in Moorcroft Close, Cobridge, has just been celebrated by Blue Mountain Housing Association.
The association, which is a specialist housing provider based in Stoke-on-Trent, provides housing and tenancy support to refugees and clients from minority ethnic communities. Blue Mountain identified the need for larger family homes in Cobridge as many families from minority groups that live in the area need larger accommodation.
A site was identified as being vacant in Cobridge and RENEW had funding available to contribute to building the six three-storey homes.
These were completed in Spring 2010 and formally opened in June. Blue Mountain rents out four of the properties and two are now for sale.
A subsidiary of Staffordshire Housing Association, Blue Mountain manages over 60 properties throughout North Staffordshire and is expanding to manage more.
As well as culturally sensitive services and housing, the association also offers advice and emotional support to refugees.
