City Waterside is top of the ‘pots’

The City Waterside proved it was right on cue when it held its first Pool Competition at Hot Shots Pool and Snooker Club, Festival Park, recently.

The competition was part of a series of events to promote the City Waterside brand and brought together residents, business owners and officers working in the area.

Twelve people entered the tournament on November 24 and names were drawn to make up six mixed teams.  The teams then battled it out in competition until only two teams remained.

The final was extremely tight and tense but eventually Nick Newman from Renew and Adrian Quoroll from Stoke-on-Trent City Council took the inaugural title.

A total of £60 was also raised on the night and donated to Children in Need.

Geoff Davies, Residents’ Friend for City Waterside, who organised the competition, said: “It was an enjoyable night.  It brought residents and officers together and it was great to also raise money for Children in Need”.
